ARE YOU GETTING THE MOST OUT OF YOUR EVENTS?
Let’s be honest, events are time-consuming and expensive to put on.
So why limit the potential of what you can get out of them by restricting the experience only to the people that are there?
In today’s digital age, the potential to expand the reach of your event far beyond those who attended in person is enormous.
You could create a highlight video of the day, to give people a feel of what it was like to be there, helping to advertise your business and the next event.
You could create more in-depth videos of each session, lecture or product demonstration, giving people all of the information as if they were there watching them in person.
You could create numerous social posts from the footage that will give you weeks’ worth of great content.
The potential is huge.
Depending on what digital content you’d like to get out of your event will also dictate what options you might take to capture it.
Option 1: Hiring a professional film crew
If the budget is there, hiring a professional film crew has many benefits and will mean you can focus on other things and let them handle it, in the knowledge that they will provide you with a high-quality video or videos, that will not only look great, but also sound great!
Well, we can’t talk for every company obviously, but that is certainly what we do!
Even though out of the 3 options it has the largest financial outlay, you will find that the return most often far outweighs the expense, when you consider the ease, level of quality and the amount of great content you get from it.
If you are wanting to create more in-depth videos, like those mentioned above, we would strongly suggest hiring a professional company.
Option 2: Filming yourself and hiring a company for editing
If there was less budget, but you were still after that professional touch, another great option is to capture the event yourself on a device such as your phone, and send it off to a company like us to edit it for you.
We provide this service for companies all of the time and just warn that the quality of self-shot video can suffer for a number of different reasons.
Though we can’t fix everything, no matter what state the video and audio is in, we will have it looking and sounding the best it possibly can.
In this option you also have the added benefit of editing experience and the ease of having a professional cut as many edit versions as you need, depending on how many different videos you would like, changing dimensions to accommodate different display devices, etc..
Option 3: Filming and editing yourself
While the main thesis of this blog post still applies here (video will help you get more from your events), this is our least recommended option.
The reason behind this is that doing it all is time consuming and takes you away from your actual job, it is more difficult than most people think and the resulting quality might not show your event or company in the best light.
Though, if it is all you can afford and you are up to the task, then by all means do it!
After the content is created, a well thought-out marketing plan is your next step and will help you get your content seen by as many of the right people as possible.
Being your one-stop-shop we can obviously help with that too 🙂
And that’s it!
