SPRING, 2024

THIS IS WHY WE ARCHIVE EVERY PROJECT WE PRODUCE!

As we look back on spring, we can’t help but see the similarities between our business and the season.

We had new professional relationships born like the first animals of the season, and the wide spectrum of projects reminded us of the varying hues of wildflowers.

It was a busy and interesting period for us, so read on to find out what we got up to!

Spring saw us shooting at ITN Studios, where they film a number of movies, productions and the Channel 4 news!

The video was extremely interesting and consisted of a 3 person panel discussing the constant transformation and future of the news – featuring the Director of Technology, Production & Innovation at ITN, BBC News’ Streaming Editor and was chaired by TVBEurope’s Editor Jenny Priestley.

If this sounds interesting to you, you can sign up to watch it for free here!

Another 3 person set-up we shot over spring was a conversational interview, with a client who had just hired a new director.

The video featured the two company owners diving into its history and growth, followed by the new director talking about their background and what they will be bringing to the role.

We love seeing this kind of thing, and as a whole, think it is quite under-utilised as a form of communicating the arrival of a new recruit.

What better way to inform the whole business than with a video that explains everything they need to know about a person!

We were heading into the archives in spring, creating a video for an event based on footage we shot in 2022!

Initially, we had shot a day of interviews for a client, which we had turned into 30 different videos; 2 years later they needed the footage re-cut to create a new video for an upcoming event.

This is why we archive every project we produce!

Using previously shot footage is a great way to keep costs down, making the initial filming costs go further, and in today’s economic climate this benefit cannot be understated.

Along the same lines, one of our clients had just gone through a rebrand and so, many of their videos were now outdated.

Does that mean they all needed a re-shoot?.. Of course not!

We watched the corporate training and learned the new brand guidelines, managed to go through our archives to find the original projects and updated the branding on every single video.

When we say we will make these tasks stress free for you, I hope you can see that we mean it!

We were off to Bracknell in the spring to film a presentation, including a Q&A about the implementation of AI in the workplace.

ai

The fascinating presentation was about how the inclusion of AI was not there to take people’s jobs, but rather, to complete smaller tasks, freeing up employees’ time for bigger picture projects.

We edited 2 videos out of the footage from the day, one with the Q&A and one without, and the client was so happy we already have a new project lined up!

From futuristic, to things that will always be important – the spring months saw us creating a Health & Safety induction video for one of our long term blue-chip clients.

For this video our client wanted to increase engagement by adding some humour – a different approach to Health & Safety to say the least!

We have done this in the past, and the key to it is striking a delicate balance – as the humour can’t outweigh the serious nature of the message the induction needs to deliver.

The client was extremely happy with the induction and said the following:

“Thanks Chris, I really love it, and it’s nice to create something a bit different 😊

Eagle eyed readers may remember from our last blog that we were in talks to produce a promo video for a cyber security company.

We’re happy to say that has all wrapped and we were very happy with how it came out.

It is such a great feeling to take a project from the inital meetings all the way through to the end like that – creating assets, finding and recording the voice over artist, to delivering the final video to a happy client – there’s nothing better!

Have a watch of the end result below.

As always, there were too many projects to mention, but needless to say, there were plenty more shoots, subtitling, localising, self-shot videos to edit, create animations for and generally make look their best, not to mention the projects in the pipeline, including a respirator video for a client from the ‘Emerald Isles’, but let’s leave it there…

We hope your spring was full of highs just like ours and we can’t wait to see what the summer brings.

Bring on the sun!
